Carrier Tape Materials

Sewate carrier tapes are made of ABS resin (an acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene copolymer) and high impact polystyrene (HIPS) modified to have conductive and antistatic properties, which are pressed into jumbo rolls and then divided into slit sheets. We produce carriers in different configurations based on clients’ needs to protect the related electronic component products from static electricity and the resulting damages while in storage or transit. This material is compliant with the RoHS and other international standards.

Our base material for carrier tape is polystyrene (PS), but we also use other materials such as polycarbonate (PC) and amorphous polyethylene terephthalate (APET). The materials used are specially formulated to provide consistent seal strength and stable surface resistivity.

Precise dimensions are ensured in our process and well-defined pockets are designed for high-speed automated tape and surface mount equipment.
